Fun, Outdoor, Educational Family Adventures!

So much to say about Pirate Adventures! Best of all, it gets you outside with your kids on a fun walk that the kids are excited about doing. My grandkids and even the adults dress up as pirates and say a lot of "argh matey"! The clues to find the treasure are clever and there is an easy version for little ones and a more difficult one for bigger kids. There's usually a playground nearby so the fun can continue after the hunt is over. Last Thanksgiving, a big group of us put on our warm jackets and went out on the hunt. So much fun for all. I hope this concept catches on all over the country!

This was my 3 year old granddaughter’s first treasure hunt and she had a lot of fun. She enjoyed following the map to get from clue to clue and was excited to find the jewels along the trail. The clues for younger children were perfect for her to figure out the secret code for opening the treasure chest and she was excited to pick her treasure. The hunt was very well planned and maintained. We are looking forward to the next one!

As a parent to a toddler, I’m always looking for fun ways to spend our afternoons and weekends. But it is RARE to find something this fun, toddler-friendly, magical, and AFFORDABLE. Not to mention, you get to stroll the lovely trails of Columbia. We did our first hunt this month, through Huntington, and I felt so blessed for the happenstance of hearing about this on a random Facebook stranger’s comment. Chris (the man behind the hunt) is lovely, thoughtful and obviously doing this to bring some joy and fun to local families. There were two little playgrounds throughout the hunt and it ended at a big playground surrounded by woods with lots of kids..some even dressed up as pirates! It was a wonderful experience and we will absolutely be making this a monthly event! 

The makers of this activity put in a tremendous amount of effort to make sure it is accessible, challenging and fun for all kids! Every hunt is different and my kids love every part of them- from perusing the map ahead of time, checking out wildlife and playing in creeks along the way, solving the clues, and of course choosing their treasure!! The hunts are so well executed and they are a highlight of our month!

This is a truly amazing, one-of-a-kind experience! We haven’t made it to every hunt, but we aim for every hunt. For the uninitiated, it IS a different hunt every month - I had someone recently question how my kids were so happy to do the same hunt repeatedly!

My kids love everything about it and one of the most special things is that they love to introduce new friends to the hunts so sometimes it’s just us and sometimes we have a crew. I love the way it grows with kids as they get older and the fact that even your youngest pirates can learn from the hunt about following directions, paying attention to surroundings, etc. Can’t say enough good things.

I’ve got two little boys ages 4 and 8 and they love these adventures! These adventures get us all up and moving and away from electronics. The kids love finding the clues, reading the messages written in chalk and getting dressed up. The treasure chest at the end is full of fun prizes. We highly recommend HoCo Pirate adventures and look forward to greeting more happy little pirates on the trail next month.
